With 15,744 square feet of retail space available over two floors, the Firecrest team was briefed to completely strip out and refurbish a former Debenhams branch in Workington.
Situated in the Washington Square shopping precinct, footfall to the outlet posed significant challenges; with works needing to be undertaken in the midst of a busy environment, traffic management and access issues were prevalent. There was also the added challenge of adhering to strict lease agreements, meaning complex design and logistics plans from the start, as well as alterations as the project progressed.
Dubbed a “bright and beautiful store” by a TK Maxx spokesperson, the new addition to Workington’s retail scene illuminates Firecrest’s ability to plan for and work through the challenges presented by active retail spaces.
